WhatsApp sync modes

When connecting WhatsApp, Dalil allows you to choose between two different syncing modes.

1. Everything mode

Dalil syncs all conversations from your WhatsApp account, including contacts that are not yet in your CRM, even cold outreach you receive from others.

This removes the need for manual data entry: Dalil captures phone numbers and conversation context, and you can create CRM records instantly with Add to people. Personal chats simply stay untracked, or can be unsynced from the inbox at any time (see Managing personal or unsynced conversations).

This mode is ideal for users who want maximum automation and minimal manual work.

2. Selective import mode

For teams with stronger privacy requirements, Selective import syncs only conversations with phone numbers already stored in the CRM.

In this mode:

Personal chats are never imported
Only conversations with existing CRM contacts appear in Dalil: to bring a new one in, add the person with a matching phone number, or switch to Everything mode in Settings
Users maintain full separation between personal and professional communication

This is the most privacy-focused syncing option.

Importing conversations and creating records

Import 1-to-1 WhatsApp conversations
Import group conversations
Create a new CRM record in one click from any conversation

How to enable WhatsApp DMs sync

Open Settings from the sidebar
Go to Core Integrations
Click Add on the WhatsApp DMs integration
Follow the steps on screen:
- Scan the QR code from WhatsApp
- Click Link Device
- Scan the QR again to confirm
- Wait for the integration to complete

Once completed, your WhatsApp account and Dalil CRM will be connected and message syncing will begin.
