A step-by-step guide to building your first automation in Vetta: from selecting a trigger to activating the workflow.
Updated August 6, 2026 · 4 min read
Vetta Workflows enable automation of tasks across your CRM, pipelines, and outreach. Creating a workflow is a seven-step process: access the workflow builder, start a new workflow, choose your approach, define a trigger, configure actions, apply conditions, and activate.
Every workflow requires exactly one trigger. Options include:
Record events (created, updated, deleted, or created-or-updated)
Pipeline record events (for example, a stage change)
Launch manually (on demand, from a record or globally)
On a schedule (every N days/hours/minutes, or a custom cron)
Webhook (external system calls your URL)
Sequence (the workflow runs as a step inside an outreach sequence)
Enrichment (runs when a record is enriched)

Example: "Pipeline record is updated" activates when a deal changes, such as moving between stages. Click the trigger node and configure its parameters (which entity or pipeline, which events). See Triggering workflows in Vetta for every option.
Click Activate and confirm Publish Workflow to publish the draft and enable automatic execution when trigger events occur. Before you do, check who the workflow runs for: the member will trigger workflow picker under the name lists the workspace members whose activity triggers it. Activating creates a new version of the workflow; you can keep editing as a new draft while the active version keeps running (see Monitoring workflow runs and versions).

Combining triggers, conditions, and actions creates automations that manage leads, advance deals, and engage customers without manual intervention. Your first workflow automates a previously manual process, whether that is assigning new leads, triggering sequences, or notifying your team, ensuring the right actions happen every time.
