Agent sequence view or sequence canvas
How the simple sequence view inside a Lead Scout agent and the sequence canvas relate: one sequence, two ways to work with it, and when to use each.

Every sequence in Vetta is built on the sequence canvas. The canvas is the backbone of every sequence, including the ones that run inside agents. The agent just shows its sequence in a simpler view, so that people who are new can start without learning the canvas first.
One sequence, two ways to work with it
- The agent's Sequence tab is the simpler view. You see the summary bar, the cutoff and the regular steps, and the agent takes care of the rest. It is built to make life easier for anyone who is starting.
- The sequence canvas is where you see and place every node yourself: steps, conditions, variables and workflow actions. It gives you full control, and it is where more proficient users work.
They are the same sequence underneath. To open an agent's sequence on the canvas, click the arrow button at the top left of the summary bar on the agent's Sequence tab. Vetta asks you to confirm ("This sequence is managed by a Lead Scout Agent") and tells you that every step, connection, sender and setting is kept as it is, and that the agent keeps enrolling its leads. Click Convert to Complex Build Mode and the sequence opens on the canvas.
Converting to Complex Build Mode is one-way: the sequence stays on the canvas from then on. Its steps, senders and settings are kept, and the agent keeps enrolling leads into it.
One sequence, two ways to work with it. Alex starts in the agent's simpler Sequence tab, where newly scouted leads are onboarded straight into the sequence with no workflow to build. Maya works on the sequence canvas, where every step and condition is a node. The video shows how an agent's sequence opens on the canvas, with Convert to Complex Build Mode and its confirmation, and explains that the sequence canvas is the backbone of every sequence, even the ones inside agents.
Transcript
Alex is setting up his first Lead Scout agent, and Maya, on his team, already builds her sequences on the canvas. Alex's view is the agent's Sequence tab. At the top are its leads, senders, schedule and daily limits, then comes the entry with its cutoff, and below that the regular steps. Newly scouted leads are onboarded straight into it, so there's no workflow to build. Maya's view is the sequence canvas, and Alex can open this same sequence there. He clicks the arrow at the top right, and Vetta asks him to confirm, and says every step, connection, sender and setting is kept as it is, while the agent keeps enrolling its leads. Then he clicks Convert to Complex Build Mode. Now every step and condition is a node he places and wires himself, with full control. It's the same sequence underneath, because the sequence canvas is the backbone of every sequence, even the ones inside agents, and the agent view is a simpler way into it. Its messages, variables and Preview are there in both views. So a new user can start from the agent view, and anyone who wants more control can open the agent's sequence on the canvas and edit it there, or build a new one.
An agent's sequence can work two ways
An agent's sequence can work as a normal sequence. With the Lead Scout agent turned on, it also onboards newly scouted leads directly, with no workflow to build: the agent finds a lead, checks it against your ICP and hands it straight to the sequence.
Go further on the canvas
More proficient users can open an agent's sequence on the canvas and edit it there, or build new sequences on the canvas from scratch. See Creating your first sequence for the canvas and Working with the agent's sequence for the agent's view.
Common questions
Is an agent's sequence a different thing from a sequence on the canvas?
No. It is the same sequence. The agent shows it in a simpler view, and the canvas shows every node.
Which one should I start with?
If you are new, start with a Lead Scout agent: its sequence view is the simplest way in. Open the canvas when you want full control of every step, condition and variable.
Can I edit an agent's sequence on the canvas?
Yes. More proficient users can open an agent's sequence on the canvas with Convert to Complex Build Mode and edit it there, or build new sequences on the canvas. The conversion is one-way, and the agent keeps enrolling leads.
Do I need an agent to use sequences?
No. A sequence works on its own. With the Lead Scout agent it can also onboard newly scouted leads directly, without workflow complexity.
Key outcome
You know that the canvas is the backbone of every sequence, and that the agent's sequence view is a simpler way into the same sequence.
