User roles, permissions and visibility
Visibility groups
Understand how data visibility and access control work across your Dalil workspace to maintain security while enabling collaboration.
Segment access to records by team, client, or department
Visibility groups control which users can view or edit specific records. This allows your team to work in the same workspace while keeping sensitive information protected.
How they work:
Assign one or more visibility groups to a record when it’s created or edited
Only users in those groups can view or modify that record
Visibility applies across all entity types (People, Companies, Opportunities, etc.)
This is especially useful for:
Managing multiple clients within one workspace
Isolating internal data by department (e.g., Sales vs. Support)
To manage visibility groups:
Go to Settings → Workspace → Visibility
Create and name groups like Marketing, Client A, or Leadership
Assign users to appropriate groups
Tips:
Use intuitive names so teams know what they belong to
Combine with user roles for layered access control
Periodically audit group memberships to prevent unauthorized access.
