Data Management

Entities

Structure your CRM around flexible entities, custom fields, and pipelines that match your business workflows. Dalil’s data model is built to adapt to the way your team works. Whether you’re managing sales, recruiting, partnerships, or support, you can organize information using core entities, custom fields, and visual pipelines.

What is an entity

Understand how Dalil structures records for different types of information.

Entities represent a specific type of object in your CRM like contacts, companies, or deals. Each entity stores records that share common attributes, helping your team organize and manage data efficiently.

Standard entities (People, Companies, Opportunities, Notes and Tasks)
  • People – Individual contacts with attributes like name, email, job title, LinkedIn profile, and score.

  • Companies – Organizations where people work. Companies contain key info such as industry, domain, and location.

  • Opportunities – Sales, deals, or partnerships you want to track across stages.

  • Tasks – Action items to assign, track, and complete with deadlines and owners.

  • Notes – Internal notes, call logs, or meeting summaries linked to people, companies, or deals.

Each of these comes with pre-configured fields and settings, but you can expand them based on your team’s needs.

Customize entities with custom fields

You can extend any entity with custom fields to fit your unique workflows—track anything from contract size to onboarding stage.

Available field types include:

Text, Number, Date, Select, Multi-select, Checkbox, Rating, Phone, URL, User, and Record link.

AI-powered fields like Job Title or LinkedIn URL auto-fill based on contact data.

Tips:
  • Use custom fields to structure complex data like lead source, project stage, or ticket priority

  • Keep naming consistent across entities for easier reporting

  • Use Multi-select fields for flexible filtering and segmentation

Create a custom entity
Build your own entity when standard options aren’t enough.

If your workflows involve unique objects - like Events, Campaigns, or Products - you can create custom entities.

To create a new entity:

  1. Go to Settings → Entities

  2. Click + New Entity

  3. Choose a name, icon, and define your custom fields

  4. Link to other entities and add to pipelines or dashboards

Custom entities behave like standard ones: you can filter, sort, visualize in pipelines, and automate with them.
