Roles and permissions: Control access in Dalil AI

In Dalil AI, Roles and Permissions let you define what team members can see and do with Leads, Contacts, Accounts, Deals, and more. It’s your way to keep data secure and workflows smooth by tailoring access to each user’s role.

What Are Roles and Permissions?
  • Roles: Labels like “Admin” or “Sales Rep” that set a user’s level of control.

  • Permissions: Specific actions—like viewing, editing, or deleting—tied to each role. Assign a role, and the user gets its permissions.

Example: An Admin can delete Deals; a Member can only edit them.

How It Works
  • Set Roles: When inviting team members and choosing a role for each.

    Dalil provides three defaults:

    • Owner: Top-tier access—create, edit, delete anything, manage users, and more. Only one Owner exists, but their role can be reassigned.

    • Admin: Broad power—create, edit, delete records, and manage users, but less than the Owner. Permissions can be adjusted.

    • Member: Limited access—focused on specific tasks with customizable permissions, less than Admin.

  • Customize: Want more control? Build custom roles in Settings > User Management, tweaking permissions to fit your needs.

  • Permissions Flexibility: Dalil lets you fine-tune actions per entity. For example, a user might edit Deals but not Contacts or Accounts—permissions bend to your rules.

  • Apply: Assign roles to one or multiple users during invites or edits in a snap.

Use Case: Set the sales lead as “Owner” to oversee all, give managers “Admin” with adjustable rights, and assign reps “Member” roles to edit Deals only—keeping Contacts and Accounts locked.
